Bay College announces schedules

ESCANABA – The Bay College Norse men’s and women’s basketball team will launch their second season Oct. 20 when they host Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. in exhibition game.

The women’s team will be under new leadership as Rob Robinson takes over at the helm of the program, succeeding Rae Drake, who guided the Norse to a 14-11 baptismal season. The men’s team was 22-7 under the direction of coach Matt Johnson.

Season tickets are now available for this year, with 10 home games, and one home exhibition.

After a pair of opening season tournaments in Mason City, Iowa, and Rosemount, Minn., the Norse will return home to host UW-Green Bay, Marinette Nov. 4.

The second home matchup will feature Western Tech Nov. 17. The Norse will then stay in state for a pair of tournaments, then travel to Gogebic Community College in Ironwood for a pair of games Nov. 24-25, and then to St. Claire County CC in Port Huron Nov. 30-Dec. 1.

Dec.r 5 will mark the third home matchup as they host Alpena Community College, before ending the year with the Quality Inn & Suites Holiday Classic at home. That tournament will see the Norse face Alpena CC Dec. 29 and Milwaukee Area Technical College Dec. 30.

In the second semester, the Norse will host three games in January. Silver Lake College will visit Jan. 5.

On Ja. 19, the women host UW-Green Bay, Manitowoc, while the men welcome Dakota County Technical College.

Lake Superior State jayvees visit Jan. 22.

The Norse make their final regular season push in February, ihosting Bryant & Stratton College Feb. 9, then play their final regular season home game Feb. 13 against Gogebic Community College.

Reserved season tickets for those home games are $100, while general admission season tickets are $75.
