MUNISING — The Bark River-Harris softball team finished the regular season strong Wednesday by sweeping host Munising 21-2 and 7-5.

“It felt good to end the season on an up note,” Broncos’ coach Jen Goodrich said. “We were able to get some of our players experience and it was a good way to end the seniors’ career with two wins. The girls worked really hard to get over that .500 hump.”

BR-H (13-0) erupted for 11 runs on eight hits in the fourth inning en route to the mercy-rule victory.

Winning pitcher Eden Oswald recorded an RBI single, RBI double and walked twice for the Broncos, who totaled 13 hits. Alexis Berg also had a two-run single, double and inside-the-park home run.

Oswald allowed three hits, struck out four and walked one.

In Game 2, the Broncos were tied 1-1 before scoring six runs on seven hits in the fifth inning.

Esther Oswald pitched the win, allowing 10 hits, striking out one and walking six.

Hailey Boucher belted a two-run triple in the fifth inning, while Bonnie Cortinas, Riley Arndt and Esther Oswald each had two hits for the Broncos.

Goodrich said her team will try to get some game action before the Broncos play in the district tournament June 1 at Norway.

She said the team will be ready for the district.

“I am not too worried,” Goodrich said. “We will practice every day and we will try to line up a game if we can. Sometimes we play better after a little bit of rest.”
