SHAWANO, Wis. -- Allen "Al" S. Hurtubise, 72, of Shawano, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the Appleton Medical Center.
Al was born in Escanaba on Dec. 27, 1945, son of Edmond and Cecil (Lafleur) Hurtubise. He was raised in the Eustis area and graduated from Holy Name High School. He attended Michigan Tech.
On Dec. 11, 1976, Al married the love of his life ,Paula DesArmo, at Sacred Heart Church in Munising. Together they celebrated 41 years of marriage and raised their two children.
He spent most of his adult life living in Gladstone where he worked for Besse Forest Products until his retirement in 1999.
Al loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed maintaining his garden and took great pride in his lawn. He loved being at his hunting camp. He was a true outdoorsman.
Among survivors are his wife, Paula; children, Jennifer (Domenic) Lauria of Brighton, Mich., and Jeff (Monique) Hurtubise of Fresno, Calif.; grandchildren, Alexis, Nicholas, Aston, Emily and Aiden; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ivy and Ron.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. Parish prayers will be said at 6:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Church with Rev. Rick Courier officiating.
