ESCANABA -- The following individuals were recently bound over from Delta County District Court to circuit court in unrelated cases.
Darrin William Leclaire Jr., 18, of 1215 1st Ave. N., Escanaba, was bound over on one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation, a 10-year felony with a maximum fine of $5,000. The charge stems from an incident that occurred on Feb. 19 in Escanaba. The cash/surety bond was set at $30,000.
Erik Scott Drossart, 32, of 525 N. 18th St., Escanaba, was bound over on two cases. One case he was bound over on the following counts: controlled substance – delivery/manufacture (schedules 1, 2 and 3 except marijuana, meth, ecstasy, and cocaine), a seven-year felony with a maximum fine of $10,000 and license sanctions unless sentenced to more than one year in prison; and one count of controlled substance – delivery/manufacture (schedule 4), a four-year felony with a maximum fine of $2,000 and license sanctions unless sentenced to more than one year in prison. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Nov. 21, 2018 in Escanaba. The bond was set at $50,000 cash/surety. The second case he was bound over on involved one count of controlled substance – delivery/manufacture (schedules 1, 2 and 3 except marijuana, meth, ecstasy and cocaine), a seven-year felony with a maximum fine of $10,000 and license sanctions unless sentenced to more than one year in prison. The charge stems from an incident that occurred on Nov. 26, 2018 in Escanaba. The cash/surety bond was set at $30,000.
Whitney Jean Kolich, 30, of 624 S. 18th St., Escanaba, was bound over on two counts of controlled substance – delivery/manufacture (cocaine, heroin, or another narcotic) less than 50 grams, both 20-year felonies with maximum fines of $25,000 and license sanctions unless sentenced to more than one year in prison. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on May 15, 2018 in Escanaba. Kolich's bond was set at $150,000 cash/surety.
Jacob Michael Calouette, 34, of 1010 Delta Ave. C3, Gladstone, was bound over on one count of home invasion – second degree, a 15-year felony with a maximum fine of $3,000. The charge stems from an incident that occurred on June 22, 2018 in Escanaba. Calouette's bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety.
David Allen White, 43, of 11105 I Rd., Cornell, was bound over in two cases both stemming from incidents that occurred on March 10, 2019 in Delta County. In one case, he was bound over on one count of malicious destruction of building – $1,000 or more but less than $20,000, a five-year felony with a maximum fine of $10,000 or three times the amount of destruction or injury, whichever is greater. White's bond was set at 10 percent of $25,000. In the second case, he was bound over on one count of controlled substance – maintaining a drug house, a two-year high court misdemeanor with a maximum fine of $25,000 and license sanctions unless sentenced to more than one year in prison. White's bond was set at $18,000 cash/surety.
