ESCANABA - The quality of care residents are offered at the Bishop Noa Home has been recognized by Medicare.gov, honoring the home as a Five-Star Facility in October 2018. Of the 441 nursing facilities in the State of Michigan, the Bishop Noa Home was one of only nine to achieve a Five-Star Rating across the board. The four areas where the Bishop Noa Home received five stars each include: Health Inspections, Staffing, Quality Measures, and Overall Rating.
"It really is quite an achievement, and our staff should be proud of this award," Bishop Noa Home Administrator Jamie LaFave said. "I would like to thank our staff for all their hard work. Their dedication to this home and to our residents has allowed us to attain this. We are proud to have each and every one of them as part of our team, and will continue to work to set the bar."
LaFave explained the Five-Star Rating is a transparent award, with all of the findings easily accessible. "The Bishop Noa Home is different from other nursing homes in the area in that it is a non-profit home and maintains a Catholic ethnicity," LaFave said. "Every penny of profit goes back into improving the home."
In another notable accolade, at the end of 2018, the Bishop Noa Home was voted The Best of the Best in Area Nursing Homes by The Daily Press for the 11th consecutive year.
