Bay offers digital photography workshop

ESCANABA — Bay College’s Training and Development (M-TEC) division is offering a non-credit workshop in Basic/Intermediate Digital Photography beginning Feb. 20. The workshop is designed for individuals interested in learning how to maximize the power of their camera. Participants must own a DSLR camera or a camera that has the capability of manual, aperture and/or shutter modes.

In this hands-on workshop, taught by local photographer Scott Peterson, participants will explore camera menu options, and how each feature can be better utilized to gain a better understanding of the processes that will add enhancement to quality photography. Basic use of imaging software will be introduced, a necessity for editing photos. New material for the course includes portrait photography, learning about flash and lighting options, and night time photography for taking star shots. In addition to classroom work, two outdoor photo shoots are included, with dates and times to be determined. Participants are asked to bring their camera’s manual to class, as well as a tripod to outdoor photo shoots.

Basic/Intermediate Photography participants will meet on Tuesdays, Feb. 20 through March 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. There is a cost to attend. To register or to view all upcoming Bay College Training and Development offerings, visit https://mytraining.baycollege.edu.
