GLADSTONE -- "Libraries = Strong Communities" is this year's theme of National Library Week. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. This year's celebration is April 7 through 13 and is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and to promote library use and support.

The Friends of the Gladstone Library purchased 22 new books to give away during this event. The books will be given away at the end of April and will interest young children through adults. All patrons and non-patrons are invited to stop in to sign up for the prizes.

For more information about this promotion and services offered, you can call the library at 428-4224.
