ESCANABA -- A free diabetes self-management workshop will be offered at the MTEC center. The Diabetes -- PATH (Personal Action Towards Health) workshop is a six-week workshop designed to provide the skills and tools needed by people living with type 2 diabetes to improve their health and manage their symptoms. As a result, participants are better equipped to face the daily challenge of living with diabetes.
Two trained leaders conduct the workshop. Subjects covered include: symptoms of diabetes, stress, managing fatigue and emotional problems, exercise, healthy eating, medications, and working with health care providers.
This six-week class will meet on Tuesday afternoons at the MTEC center starting Tuesday, April 17 and going until Tuesday, May 22 from 12:30-3 p.m. Class sizes are limited and pre-registration is required.
Family and caregivers are welcome to attend this workshop. There is no cost to attend.
