Lillie Johnson commits to UW-Green Bay

GLADSTONE — On Thursday morning Lillie Johnson put the pen to the paper and made it official as she signed her letter of intent to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Johnson has had a stellar high school career having scored a program record 1,591 points and counting as well as the program record for rebounds at 968 and counting. She also has program records for points in a game at 44, three-pointers made in a game at seven and points in a season at 611.

In 2025 she was named Miss Basketball by the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.

She was Detroit Free Press All-State second team in 2025 and third team in 2024. She was also Great Northern Conference and Mid Peninsula Conference player of the year in 2024 and 2025.

“It’s really exciting,” Johnson said. “It’s also a weight off my shoulders knowing that the process is over and just looking forward to getting there in the summer for workouts.”

Johnson picked UW-Green Bay because she said it kind of felt like home.

“The first time I stepped on campus I knew that the coaches really wanted me there. It gave me a feeling of comfort and really felt like family and i’m happy to be here for the next four yers starting in the fall of 2026.”

Johnson is going to be studying in the sports marketing field.

Johnson said last season was a season she would never forget but said she wants the team this season to make it further than last season saying saying we ended it a little to short last season but I would not ask for a better group of teammates.

Johnson averaged 21.1 ppg as well as 12.9 rebounds with 3.8 steals, 2.2 assists and 1.1 blocks on 42.9 field goal percentage.
