Esky hockey splits downstate trip

ALPENA — The Escanaba Eskymos hockey split a pair of road games in Alpena Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Tuesday night, the Mos trounced the Dexter Dreadnaughts 10-2 while Wednesday’s contest against the Alpena Wildcats went to a shootout that went the way of Alpena 3-2.

The matchup with Dexter ended via the mercy rule with 7:52 left on the clock in the game.

Trevor Streichert, Jayger LaMarch, Karson Krutina and Gunner Bourdeau all scored two goals each in the game to account for eight of the Eskymos’ 10 goals. Sawyer LaMarch and Riley Stannard each put the puck in the net once as well.

Against Alpena, Stannard and Krutina put up the two goals for Escanaba.
