BR-H softball splits Bobcats
BARK RIVER — Lauren Zawada scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the eighth inning here Thursday night as the Bark River-Harris Broncos squeezed past the Florence Bobcats 18-17 in the second game of a softball doubleheader.
Ava McDonough collected three hits and scored three times for the Broncos, who dropped the opener 14-6. Lexi Berg added two hits, including a home run, and scored the tying run in the sixth. Amanda Burton and Esther Oswald also had two hits, and Oswald became the winning pitcher.
The opener was tied 2-2 after two innings. The Bobcats broke open the game with seven runs in the third.
Oswald had two hits and a home run in the first game.
The Broncos visit the Negaunee JVs for a twinbill Monday.
