The Escanaba Competitive Cheer team took first at districts for the third year in a row at Midland on Feb. 22 and then placed fourth in regionals at Rockford last weekend to advance to the state finals in Grand Rapids at the Delta Plex this Saturday. The state finals consist of the top eight teams in the state. Team members are Annika Wangrud, Haylee Tolman, Hailey Teal, Jaden Stankowicz, Carsyn Segorski, Alivia Royer, Emily Moore, Natalie Monkevich, Allie Larson, Faith Lancour, Nina Kregelka, Emma Johnson, Mikara Hughes, Karina Hiltunen, Violet Hawn, Mary Groleau, Kylee Forshey, Glykeria Economopoulos, Aleah Derusha, Chasity Brown, Kendra Boosamra, Makaela Babb and Daelynn Anderson. The team is coached by Sam Griebel.
