ESCANABA — In Thursday’s edition of the Daily Press, it was wrongly stated that Lenna Smith and Emilee McDaniel were the first two Manistique Emeralds to sign to play college volleyball.
Malorie Lakosky, a 2009 Manistique graduate, played volleyball at Alma College.

Esky bowlers start
season at L’Anse
L’ANSE — The Escanaba bowling team started its season under new coach John Kositzky at L’Anse Saturday.
The boys B team picked up a 33-7 win over team X. The B team was led by Gunner Dlugas with a 230 high game and a 523 series, followed by Matt Cordy with a 247 game and a 521 series.
The X team was led by Spencer Fennel with a 201 game and a 555 series, followed by Eastin Young with a 162 game and a 462 series.
The boys A team and the girls were bowling against a match score because of an odd number of teams.
The A team was led by Hunter Lancour with a 221 game and a 611 series, followed by a 225 game and a 562 series by Josh Worthen.
McKenzie Rickel led the girls with a 184 game and a 484 series, followed by Dakota Cloutier with a 179 game and a 462 series.
Esky travels to Marquette Saturday, where it will face L’Anse at 11 a.m. and Marquette at 4.
