Doug Gillis to hold

camp in Rapid River

RAPID RIVER — Doug Gillis, a six-time member of Team USA, is returning to Rapid River to host a two-day softball pitching camp July 15-16. The camp consists of four pitchers per hour, and cost is $60 per pitcher for the hour.

Sessions run for an hour each between 1-6 p.m. on the 15th and 1-4 p.m. on the 16th. Pitchers need to bring their own catcher and indoor ball; no outdoor balls are allowed on the gym floor.

Each student’s pitching technique will be videotaped for critique, with tips and drills being suggested for practice. All training will be held at Rapid River High School. Fastpitch players of all ages and skill levels interested in pitching are encouraged to attend.

For questions, or to make a reservation, contact George Kanyuh (906-630-2146). Full payment must be received at least three days prior to the scheduled lesson or slots can be given to someone on the waiting list. Spots are still available. Make checks payable to Doug Gillis.
