RAPID RIVER — The Rapid River softball team is hosting the Division 4 district tournament for the first time in school history Friday.

The Rockets play Bark River-Harris at noon, followed by Norway vs. Stephenson at 2. The championship game follows at 4.

Cost to enter is $6 per person.

ECC men

ESCANABA — Dave Harris shot a 70 (1-under par) at the Escanaba Country Club Men’s 18-hole League Tuesday. Harris was followed by Jeff Rae 71, Tom Zeni 72, Jeff McCall 74, Jordan Lemire and Brian Robinette 75, Randy Eis 76 and Paul Gayan 77.

Harris also led the 9-hole league with a 34, followed by Rae 35, McCall 37, Lemire 38, Gayan, Robinette, Dave Cannon, Brandon Gundry and Ivan Malnar 39.

Terrace Bluff men

GLADSTONE — Rick LaFleur hit 36 in the Terrace Bluff Wednesday Night Men’s League, followed by Trent Stupak 38 and Rudy Papaik, Terry Hoffmeyer and Ryan Pairolero 39.

Stock gets ace

GLADSTONE — Vic Stock recorded his first hole-in-one on hole 17 at the Gladstone Golf Course Sunday, using his pitching wedge on the 109-yard hole. Stock has been golfing for 30 years.
