ESCANABA — April 29 is the deadline to acquire tickets for the 48th annual Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet.

The induction banquet is May 11 at the Island Resort and Casino in Harris. A social begins at 5 p.m. (EDT) and the dinner and program start at 6 p.m.

Only tickets purchased or ordered by April 29 will be available to be picked up at the door. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

To purchase tickets — at $30 apiece — or order them by April 29, contact Dennis Grall (280-3277) or Dave Lahtinen (399-3753) in Escanaba.

Inductees include: Jerry Bugni of L’Anse, the late Marmaduke Christie of Escanaba, Fran DesArmo of Munising, Dave Duncan of Cedarville, Jeff Finger of Houghton, Chris Hofer of Kingsford, the late Joe Linder of Hancock, the late Bob Olson of Houghton, the late Fred Lonsdorf of Houghton and former North Dickinson High School and Indiana University cager Todd Lindeman.

ESCANABA — The next Eskymo Fan Club meeting is Monday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school library.
