Braves’ jayvees sweep Gwinn

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone jayvee sofball team took two games from Gwinn here Tuesday. The Braves won the opener 12-2 and the nightcap 11-1.

In the first game, Marnnea LaFave, Megan Crow and Tehya Mattson each had two hits, including a double and a triple by LaFave.

Crow picked up the win, striking out nine and walking one in three innings. Kenzington Pepin got the save, pitching the next two innings. She gave up two runs on two hits and struck out one.

In the second game, Alaina Trudeau and Crow each had three hits. Crow also had five RBIs. Pepin pitched the first three innings, giving up one run and two hits while striking out four and walking just one. Crow got the save by striking out five in the last two innings.
