CRYSTAL FALLS — Riley Hendrickson and Tommy Showers each scored 22 points as Forest Park turned back North Central 72-64 in Skyline Conference boys basketball Friday at Eddie Chambers Gymnasium.

The Trojans (7-6, 3-2), playing at home for the first time in two weeks, built a 35-20 halftime advantage.

“Our team loves Eddie Chambers,” said Coach Chris Nocerini, whose Trojans managed just 37 points in a season-opening loss to North Central. “This was a nice overall team win. It was great to see the kids respond to what we’ve been working on since November.”

Hendrickson hit two of his five triples in the first quarter to put the Trojans ahead 20-8. The margin was nine after three quarters and Nocerini said the Jets (10-3, 3-2) closed to five in the fourth quarter.

“Hendrickson hit some big free throws down the stretch,” said Nocerini, noting the senior guaard converted five of six. “Keall Emmers came through with three big free throws and did a nice job handling the ball.”

Emmers finished with 13 points. Nocerini also praised Showers for grabbing 14 rebounds with his 22 points.

“It’s nice to see our young kids maturing into varsity players,” Nocerini said.

Brady Eichmeier’s 17 points and 14 rebounds led the Jets. Carter Holle chipped in 11 points.

Forest Park hosts North Dickinson Tuesday, while North Central hosts North Dickinson Wednesday.
