Bay women demolished

PORT HURON — It was a tough afternoon for the Bay College women Friday as they dropped a 100-36 basketball decision to Mid-Michigan Community College in the St. Clair County Classic.

The Norse trailed 23-7 after the first quarter and 51-15 at halftime.

Jordan Kraemer scored nine points for Bay, which hit just 10-of-46 field goals and committed 40 turnovers.

Savannah Peplinski led Mid-Michigan (5-0) with 17 points. Breyton Meeks scored 15. Allyiah Demmers added 14. Cara Wiles tallied 13 and Amelia McNutt had 11.

Mid-Michigan held a 38-24 rebounding advantage, hit 39-of-78 field goals and had 14 turnovers. Carly Hickey had 12 boards for the winners. Keshia Davis grabbed 10 for Bay.

Bay (4-5) faces St. Clair Community College today at 3.
