NEGAUNEE — Amy Nixon of Manistique has been named coach of the year by Mid-Peninsula Conference volleyball coaches.

Two of her players, Lenna Smith and Joslynn Muth, were selected to the first team of all-stars picked by the coaches.

Jacquie Rollins of Iron Mountain was selected player of the year.

Also on the first team are Kaleiah Lawrence of Gladstone, Chloe Norman of Negaunee, Brooke Manor of Gwinn and Hannah Ellis of Iron Mountain.

The second team includes Emma Thomann and Riley Paupore of Iron Mountain, Emilee McDaniel of Manistique, Hailey Smith and Brylea Ranta of Ishpeming and Emily Curtice and Hannah Noel of Gwinn.

The defensive all-star team includes Smith and Sydny Peterson of Manistique, Anna Larson of Gladstone, Norman, Korey Kaukola of Ishpeming and Ella Fortner of Iron Mountain.

Receiving honorable mention were Taleise Lawrence and Chloe Grenier of Gladstone, Abby Burnham of Manistique, Marissa Delmont of Gwinn, Madison Pruett of Ishpeming and Abbie Tollfefson of Negaunee.
