Esky spikers roll

NEAGAUNEE – Escanaba’s volleyball team got back to its winning ways on Tuesday night beating Negaunee in four sets 22-25, 25-14,25-16,25-15.

The Eskymos upped their season record to 3-1 with the victory and coach Adam Lambert was pleased with his team coming back from a disapointing five-set loss at home last week against Kingsford.

“The first set it took our girls a little time to warm up,” said Lambert.

“We started to hit and serve and we covered the floor like the team that we are.

“As a team we were over 90% on serves, and many blocks at the net.

“We are a team that has the ability to contend and beat any teams on our schedule.”

Senior Lexi Chaillier led the Eskymos with 23 kills and 12 blocks.

Gabriella Stalboerger contributed eight blocks for the winners.

Kaitlyn Lord had 27 assists and Tess Henderson 24 assists for Escanaba.
