ESCANABA - For the 10th straight year, the Community Foundation For Delta County's annual MASH/GOOD DEED event is sold out.
"We are so very grateful for the tremendous support we receive from the community," said Alice Butch, board chair of the Community Foundation. "In addition to Mr. Kevin Tapani, retired pitcher for the Minnesota Twins and several other major league baseball teams, Rob Collier, president/CEO of the Council of Michigan Foundations, will also be in attendance and speak about philanthropy in Michigan."
The Community Foundation For Delta County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit under the IRS Code and is governed by a 19-member unpaid, all-volunteer board of trustees. Of the 19 board of trustee members, two are high school students with full voting rights.
"The community foundation uses part of the MASH/GOOD DEED event's proceeds to supplement its grant funds.
The Community Foundation For Delta County is part of the collaborative of the Community Foundation of the Upper Peninsula, which is headquartered in the same offices in Escanaba," Butch said.
