ESCANABA - An Escanaba man pleaded guilty today of abusing his girlfriend's son and pleaded no contest to sexually abusing the teen at their Escanaba home.

Carl James Pellinen, 47, entered the two pleas in Delta County Circuit Court. The victim's mother, Susan Marie Bardo, 46, pleaded guilty this morning to torture and first-degree child abuse in circuit court.

The two defendants were each arrested April 12 on charges of first-degree child abuse, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, and torture of Bardo's 15-year-old son during a four-year period.
