The Gladstone Middle School Spanish classes paired up with the organization, U.P. Friends of Honduras, to help purchase much needed books for children in the country of Honduras. The classes raised over $400 in one week and were able to purchase more than 200 books. The books will be distributed to children in the poor economic mountain region in Honduras. Teacher Halley Reichel expressed pride in her students and their desire to help others.
Teacher Halley Reichel said the little girl in the photo was the recipient of a book when volunteers with U.P. Friends of Honduras visited the county last year.
