Millers married 60 years

GLADSTONE - Bill and Vivian Miller celebrated their 60th Wedding anniversary on Dec. 7 with a family gathering and dinner.

Bill and the former Vivian Belongie were married Dec. 7, 1952, in Sacramento, Calif., at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church. Attending the bride and groom were the bride's sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Jack Murchie. The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her employer and friend, Morey Greenberg. The couple celebrated their wedding with friends at a reception given by the Greenbergs at their home in Sacramento.

Bill and Vivian made their home in Olympia, Wash., until Bill completed his service in the U.S. Army and then returned to the Escanaba/

Gladstone area, eventually settling into their present home in Gladstone.

Bill spent most of his working years at Stang Tank Line, retiring in 1989.

The couple raised four children, Don (Wendy) of Kalamazoo, Cindy (Mike) Belongie of St Jacques, Diana (Kelly) Molenaar of Kalamazoo and Terry (John) Closs of Gladstone.

Bill and Vivian also have seven grandchildren, Sam, Maggie, Kyle, Danielle, Christopher, Haley and Benjamin.
