GLADSTONE - Gladstone Public Safety is seeking the public's help in identifying a hit and run vehicle that injured a pedestrian at a local intersection early this morning.

The pedestrian, Cody Nivison, 25, of Gladstone, was walking across the intersection of Delta Avenue and 9th Street at 2 a.m. when he was struck by a pickup truck, which left the scene going north on 9th Street, stated a news release from Public Safety.

The victim was transported by ambulance to OSF St. Francis Hospital to be treated for his injuries, said police. Nivison was listed in fair condition this morning, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect vehicle, which is said to be a Ford pickup, possibly a diesel. The passenger-side mirror was broken off at the scene of the accident, added police.

Anyone with information on the vehicle is asked to notify the police department at (906) 428-3131.
