ESCANABA - Lloyd Joseph Sodergren Jr., 77, of 2921 17.75 Lane in Escanaba, Mich., (Riverland) passed away unexpectedly Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 2012, at the home of his son. He was born March 6, 1935, in Escanaba, Mich., and was the son of Lloyd and Cecile (Chouinard) Sodergren Sr. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army and later in the U.S. Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged on July 31, 1963. He married the former Marion King on Nov. 26, 1960 at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock, Mich. Lloyd was employed all of his working years as a cabinet maker and was the owner of Sodergren Manufacturing. He also was a very talented musician and played many years in the band "Country Gentlemen." Lloyd was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock and the Amvets.

Lloyd Joseph Sodergren Jr. is survived by: wife, Marion; daughter, Laurie (Leon) O'Neil of Skiatook, Okla.; son, Brian Sodergren of Bark River; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Cecile Sodergren of Escanaba; mother-in-law, Gertrude Kutches of Powers; two brothers, Marshall (Bonnie) Sodergren of Riverland, George (Sheri) Sodergren of Oklahoma; two sisters, Debra Sodergren of Oklahoma, Carol (Zane) Zanders of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Lloyd Sr., he was preceded in death by son, Ricky Sodergren, on Aug. 6, 1994, and daughter, Lisa Ann Juchemich, on Feb. 5, 1997.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Delta County Veteran's services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock with Father Jose Maramattam officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services in the Father Matt Parish Hall. Burial will take place in the Escanaba Township Cemetery.
