Local author Gary R. Shiplett's fifth book will be released this month by Infinity Publishing and will be available on Amazon.com. Entitled "A Life Pressing On: A Ukrainian Story of Survival," it tells the story of the author's good friend, Anatol Dmytriuk, who was enslaved first by the Soviets at age 15 and escaped and then by the Nazi's at age 16 and escaped by age 18. The book also tells a larger compelling story of the genocide in Ukraine before and during World War II. "The tectonic forces of Stalinists in the East and Nazis in the West collided with their epicenter the Republic of Ukraine. Anatol Dmytriuk lived his early years under the diabolical tyranny of these two dark forces." This is his story.
