Gladstone Christmas celebration tonight

GLADSTONE - Gladstone's Old Fashioned Christmas will kick off this evening with family friendly events from 5 to 8 p.m. Events will include:

5 p.m. - Caroling and city tree lighting with music provided by the Gladstone High School Band

5:30 p.m. - Santa arrives from the North Pole by fire truck

5:45 p.m. - Live Nativity sponsored by Trinity Episcopal Church

5-7 p.m. - Face painting at city hall

5-8 p.m. - Children's carnival at the American Legion, cookies and cider at city hall; letters to Santa at the North Pole Express at city hall

6-8 p.m. - Downtown caroling

6:30-8 p.m. - Santa arrives for photos and gifts at the Gladstone Electric Garage across from city hall

7-7:30 p.m. - "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" reading at city hall
