Mike Delke is shown above with his prize-winning carving of a Bee-Eater in the 2010 Bay Area Art Association Membership Show. He has also won prizes at the national level.

He'll walk participants through the process, teaching them to use dremels, knives, and gouges, and discussing deer anatomy to help achieve realism. Each will take their new knowledge home and work on their own piece between classes. The final session will be to complete the bust and detail it with acrylic paints.

Fee for the class, which includes all materials, is $44, or $36 for Arts Center members. Call 786-3833 or visit for more information or to register.
