‘Miracle Minute’ school battle Friday for UNICEF

October 2, 2012
Daily Press

GLADSTONE - The Gladstone and Escanaba Key Clubs will be partnering with UNICEF on Friday to help put an end to Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus by raising funds for vaccines in an event called Miracle Minute.

The event will take place at the GladstoneEscanaba Football game which takes place in Gladstone this year. Money will be collected between the first and second quarters of the game.

Each Key Club has one minute to collect as much money as possible from their school's fans. Club members will use designated containers and circulate through the stands.

The club with the least amount of money will have the athletic director from their school dress in the opponent's school's colors and work as the athletic director at the winning school for a day.

Donations will be used to buy vaccines to help eliminate Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus which kills 160 babies worldwide every day.
