WELLS - David Lee Carlson married the former Carol Jean Chenier 50 years ago, May 26, 1962, at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock. Rev. Rick Courier, Pastor of St. Anthony Church in Wells, gave the couple a special anniversary blessing on May 26.

The family celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner at The Terrace hosted by their children. David and Carol were also surprised with a celebration party with family at their home hosted by Carol's sister, Betty Chenier of Washington D.C. and their mother, Jeanette Frazer of Escanaba.

David retired from Upper Peninsula Power Company in 1996 after 33 years of service as General Foreman. He is a member of the American Legion Post 115. Carol is a homemaker and for the past 35 years continues to do volunteer service for St. Anthony Church in Wells, Right to Life and Pregnancy Services of Delta County with help from her husband David after he retired. They both enjoy visiting their children's families, gardening and picking berries.
