You brought up a good point 'arealyooper'.. exactly "HOW MANY" stories have we heard of "Wolves Attacking Humans" ? Indian906 is correct, MANY more Deer are taken by Poachers, Cars, and even Licensed Hunters than by any Wolf. I'm very sure Wolves kill more rabbits, Squirrels, and other small animals than they do Dogs, Cows, and Deer - Only a 'limited' number of Wolves can be taken (legally). Does that 'lessen' the chance? I dunno I think the stories of Wolves decimating Deer Herds is greatly, exaggerated.. (Much like Casperson's story of three attacking a Day Care Center)

No offense, but more deer are killed per year by hunters and car/deer accidents than by wolves.

I talked to a friend of mine that went out bow hunting a couple of weeks ago. When he was walking out to his stand one morning and it was still rather dark out and he noticed 3 Silhouettes of some kind of animals not too far from him. He climbed up to his stand and they were still standing there. As it became lighter he seen that they were wolves. After about 10 minutes they slowly walked off. The point being that these three wolves were not afraid of him at all!! I suppose it will take a wolf to kill someone before they take this problem seriously!!!

I was in the woods near Bark River last week, and the DNR have signs up all over the place warning hunters that there is a lot of wolves in the area. If there are so many wolves in the area that they need to warn people, I think they need to exterminate some of them!!! I know all you wolf lovers would just like to see them left alone, but they do kill a LOT of deer!! We need to have a wolf season in Delta and Menominee Counties!! I think it would be ok to have a few wolves running around,( a very few )!!!!
