There's always something to be thankful for

November 23, 2011 - Brian Rowell
Several Thanksgivings have past since the economy went flat. For many, these years have been difficult to say the least. It think, in some way, all of us continue to struggle as the economy limps along. I believe, though, that even in the darkest hour there is always something to be thankful for — even if you have to look very hard to find it. Just look around you. For example, we live in a beautiful area where the people are kind, compassionate and really do care about their neighbor. I’ve seen neighborhoods in the Chicago area that look like war zones. I’m grateful I’m able to live in a place like the U.P. — even if the temperature dips below freezing half the year. I feel fortunate to live here, and you should, too. It’s something we take for granted, but it is a gift we receive every day. Happy Thanksgiving
