Wind farm concerns

EDITOR:

It appears that Heritage Wind Energy is once again attempting to stampede the public and its representatives into making hasty and ill-advised decisions.

Heritage contends that it is a public utility and therefore can access the public right-of-way and possibly exercise eminent domain for its transmission lines. Also that is has a working relationship with Cloverland and it has proper ground clearance for its high voltage (138,000 volts) transmission lines.

None of this is true.

It is important to note that at a public meeting in Garden (October 2017) State Representative, Beau LaFave described Delta County as the last remaining bastion of industrial wind towers in the state of Michigan.

Can it be that our local political leadership is unaware or just reluctant to recognize facts?
