Praise for UP’s 906 Warrior Relief Fund

Bouquets

This week’s bouquets go to —

From Kim Goneau, Gladstone:

I am writing to let our community know about an amazing organization called the 906 Warrior Relief Fund. I have personally observed how this organization helps low-income veterans across all counties of the Upper Peninsula, by providing financial assistance for urgent needs, such as furnace co-pay assistance, past due property taxes, utility assistance, medical bills and more.

The 906 Warrior Relief Fund raises all of their own funds and would greatly benefit from donations from businesses and individuals during this holiday season and beyond. Please visit their website at www.906warriorrelieffund.org or their Facebook page for more information.

Colorado Yoopers Picnic a success

From the Colorado Yoopers:

The Colorado Yoopers have sent another donation to the Upper Peninsula with funds collected at their 25th-annual picnic Oct. 25 in Lakewood, Colorado.

Carl Johnson, organizer of the picnic, sent $500, which will be matched, to the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation in Hancock to benefit its Little Brothers program.

“The annual picnic was a blast, like all of the past years,” Johnson said.

If you or someone you know from the U.P. is moving to Colorado, they can reach out to the Colorado Yoopers at coloradoYoopers.com.
