Scott L. Everson

ESCANABA — Scott L. Everson, 65, of Escanaba, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at his home.

He was born on May 11, 1957 in Menominee, Mich., son of Henry J. and Dollras M. (Santi) Everson. At the age of 11, the Everson family moved to Hyde. Scott graduated from Escanaba High School in 1976.

Scott served honorably in the U.S. Army.

He worked with his dad doing construction, logging, roofing and other handyman projects for many years.

Scott was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He will always be remembered as a jokester and his ways of scaring people. Even if he wasn’t able to be with his grandchildren all the time, he loved hearing about them and took much pride in his family.

He was a member of St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church and the church choir.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; children, Justin Everson of Hyde, Tyler (Heather) Everson of Escanaba, and Felicia (Michael) Lockwood all of Escanaba; grandchildren, Autumn, Kimberly, and Justin Jr. Everson, Kaylie Everson, and Emily, Henry, Olivia, and Elizabeth Lockwood; siblings, Joe (Tracy) Everson, Michelle Nail, and Mary Porath; the mother of his children, Susan Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, William Porath.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church with Rev. Tim Ferguson officiating. A meal will immediately follow in the church hall.

Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Schaffer at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Scott’s name may be directed to St. Joseph and St. Patrick’s Church.
