Kambria Charlotte Grenfell

NEENAH, Wis. — Kambria Charlotte Grenfell, age 10, of Neenah, Wis., gained her angel wings, Saturday afternoon, September 18, 2021, at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis. after a 9-month journey fighting Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

Kambria was born on August 23, 2011, in Iron Mountain, Mich. to Jerry and Rachel (Booker) Grenfell on August 23 at 8:23 p.m. She was currently attending the 5th grade in Neenah, Wis. Kambria loved gymnastics and participated in a recreational program at Precision Athletics in Oshkosh, Wis. You could always find Kambria doing cartwheels, handstands, or working on her back walkover. Kambria also loved Girls on the Run, swimming, goose hunting with her dad, doing art projects with mom, snuggling Joe our dog, and playing with her siblings and friends. Kambria had a laugh that was contagious and she would laugh so hard she would often cry. Kambria has always had the kindest heart and was always there to help a person in need and many people learned this by following her journey. Kambria encouraged and inspired people to give food to the hungry and send gifts to Children’s Hospital. Kam just always wanted to put a smile on someone else’s face. Through Kambria’s journey she eventually lost her ability to walk, talk, and move her right arm. However, she always figured out a better way to do things and she never lost hope.

Kambria is survived by her parents, Jerry and Rachel (Booker) Grenfell; sister, Jerika; and brother, Greyson; grandparents, Marilyn Booker, Vance and Brenda Hiney, Clyde and Patty Lancour, and Jerry Grenfell; aunts, Jessica Grenfell, Malary Hiney, and Shea Gerou; uncle, Ben Booker “Uncle Bubba”; cousins, Jaxon, Brendon, and Breanna Fernandez, and Bennett Booker; special people in her life were Paxton Johnson, Kathy Allen, Nancy Bannister, Judi Possi, and Tori Booker; as well as all her Neenah friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Kambria will follow at 11 a.m., Saturday, with Rev. Terry Frankenstein officiating. A luncheon will be held at the conclusion of the services at the Escanaba Country Club.
