Diana ‘Peggy’ L. Baumler

BARK RIVER — Diana “Peggy” L. Baumler, 68, Bark River, passed away on Friday September 10, 2021 at UP Health Systems in Marquette with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 2, 1953 in Escanaba, daughter of the late Ernest and Viola (Bergeron) Jacques. She married Fred Baumler 28 years ago.

Peggy worked at Robinson Furniture, Hannahville School, more recently at Meijer’s and was a cook with her sister at the Escanaba Eagles Club, but she will be remembered mostly as the “neighborhood nana”.

She is survived by her husband, three children, Raymond (Kelly) LeClaire, Eric LeClaire and Holly (Scott) Derouin; siblings, Marylou Millette, Carol (Leroy) Cooper, Rose (Jim) Peltier, Bonnie (Tom) Royer, Wayne (Shirley) Jacques, Norbert (Sue) Jacques, Jerome (Georgia) Jacques, Gerald Jacques, Richard (Pat) Jacques, David (Cheryl) Jacques and Marvin (Janet) Jacques; 11 grandchildren, Simone, Troy, Karissa, Michaela, Marissa, Caitlin, Madalyn, Destiny, Savanna, Eyric and Tyler, two great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children, Lenny LeClaire; siblings, Mariyln Benoit, Nancy Kasbohm, Robert Jacques; two sisters-in-law, Robertalou Jacques and Darlene Jacques; three brothers-in-law, Stanley Benoit, Pete Kasbohm and Lester Millette; a stepson, Chris Baumler and close friends, Marv and Sherri.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday September 14, at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A service to celebrate the life of Peggy Baumler will be at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Fr. Robb Jurkovich officiating. A luncheon will follow services at the Escanaba Eagles Club. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
