Ronald James Heim

Ron was born Aug. 28, 1939, in Bark River, the son of Raymond and Pearl Heim. He was raised in Bark River and was a 1957 graduate of Bark River High School.

After graduation, Ron went on to receive his professional certification in machinery and tool making. Throughout his 57 years of experience and working career, Ron held positions at various companies including Buehr Machine and Tool Company, Rust Engineering Company,

P & S Manufacturing, Bay de Noc Community College, Harnischfeger Corporation and Lakeshore Corporation. Ron worked in various capacities as a shop supervisor, tool room foreman, industrial engineer, methods engineer, quality control chief inspector, quality engineer and general manager. Following his retirement, Ron was a self-employed owner of Hyde Machine and Tool and he enjoyed many wonderful years with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Ron was a long-time member and board member at the Highland Golf Course in Hyde. He loved to cheer for the Detroit Lions and will be deeply missed by all.

In addition to his loving wife Grace, Ron is survived by daughters, Kim (Mike) Oakley and Kim Barron; son, Tim (Candice) Barron; brothers, Ken and Clark Heim; grandchildren, Keenan, Emma and Christianne Barron; and brother-in-law, Jeff (Paula) Waeghe. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Raymond and Pearl, Ron was preceded in death by daughter, Jennie Fisher; and sisters and brother-in-law, Mary (Fran) Glovacki and Marilyn Heim.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ronald James Heim will be held at the convenience of his family. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements. Messages of condolence may be offered at www.skradskifuneralhomes.com
