Robert ‘Bob’ F. Engdahl
WELLS — Robert “Bob” F. Engdahl, 96, Wells, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020 at North Woods Place in Escanaba. He was born on Aug. 31, 1924 in Escanaba, son of the late Gustaf and Louise (Depotise) Engdahl. On July 14, 1951 he married the former Marie “Pat” Couillard at St. Anthony’s Church.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired after 36 years at the paper mill. Bob was a member of St. Anthony’s church in Wells for many years. Amongst his many hobbies, Bob really enjoyed his daily five mile walks and biking.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Richard Engdahl and William (Christina) Engdahl; a brother, Fred (Marge) Engdahl as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parent and two sisters, Eleanor and Lorraine.
At this time services will be private for his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Church with Fr. Rick Courier officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
His family would like to extend a special thanks to all the caregivers at North Woods Place, who lovingly called him “Pops”, and became his “adopted grandchildren” over the past two years.
