Greggory ‘Gregg’ Allan Anderson
GLADSTONE — Greggory “Gregg” Allan Anderson, 57, of Gladstone, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 12, 2020. Gregg was born in Escanaba on July 23, 1963 to Dean and Marilyn Anderson. He attended Bay College and Northern Michigan University where he graduated from the Police Academy in 1999. He fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a police officer of which he continued for 14 years.
Gregg was a jack of all trades and his hobbies included NASCAR, hunting with his bird dog, Gordy (named after Jeff Gordon), camping, and “putzing” in his garage. He also enjoyed Two Hearted Ales around a bonfire or anywhere his friends and family were, taking rides in the truck with Tammy, and being the grill master. Gregg will be remembered for his sarcastic sense of humor, his long story telling, and most importantly, his willingness to always help people.
Greggory A. Anderson is survived by his girlfriend, Tammy Castle; son, Andrew (Kristi) Anderson; daughter, Ashlee Anderson; grandson, Jacob Anderson; sister, Donna Lee Caron (Dave Strom); stepmother, Gloria Jean Anderson; nephew, Preston Caron; great-niece, Scarlett Caron; stepson, Wyman Castle; mother of his children, Brenda Anderson (Todd Wallace); and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Gregg was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Marilyn Anderson; and good friend, Tony Krauss.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Gladstone. Due to the current mandate, masks must be worn during the time of visitation. Social distancing practices will also be taking place. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rapid River Cemetery with Rev. Diane Srutowski officiating. Burial will follow the graveside services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Gregg’s family to assist with funeral expenses, c/o Anderson Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to EMS, the sheriff’s department, and everyone that assisted in the search to find his dog, Gordy.
