GLADSTONE — Sylvia Mae Ray, age 93, of Gladstone, passed away Friday morning, June 19, 2020 at Sunny Shores Assisted Living in Gladstone.

Sylvia was born Jan. 3, 1927, in Enid, Okla., the daughter of Bill and Eva (Unhu) Johnson. She graduated high school from Galtry High.

Sylvia was united in marriage to Harry Edward Ray. He preceded her in death Jan. 11, 2009. She was a branch manager with Northern Michigan Bank for many years. She loved going to the casino and playing bingo. She also enjoyed working outdoors. Sylvia liked fishing and had a sweet tooth for cookies and butter pecan ice cream. She especially loved her grandchildren. Sylvia was the last of 13 children.

Sylvia is survived by son, Kelly (special friend Theresa) Ray of Liberty Township, Ohio; son-in-law, Mike DeLoughary of Owasso, Okla.; two brother-in-laws, Hugh (Rosemary) Ray, of Escanaba, and Don (Marianne) Ray, of Gladstone; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Kelyn Ray-Streiber of Ellington, Conn.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sylvia is preceded in death by daughter, Cheryl Deloughary; and 13 siblings.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 23 from 2 until 4 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Escanaba. Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 4 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Escanaba. Sylvia will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sunny Shores Adult Foster Care in Gladstone. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Ray Family.
