Richard I. Flick

GLADSTONE, Mich. — Richard I. Flick, 89, passed away Friday evening, Jan. 24, 2020, at his home in Gladstone.

Richard was born June 5, 1930, in Chicago, Ill, the son of Erna Eggleston. He was raised in Chicago and attended Hyde Park High School. On Feb. 3, 1948, Richard enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Alaska and Hawaii. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 2, 1950, and returned to Chicago. After raising his family, Richard was united in marriage to Donna (Barnhart) Kelleher and together the couple relocated to Munising and later to Gladstone following their retirement. Richard was an avid bird lover and coin collector.

In addition to his wife Donna, survivors are: children, Kathy (Chuck), Daniel (Lori), Kevin (Jo Ann), Ellen (Jim), Terry (Christy) and Mary Beth; loving stepfather to Diane, Mary Sue and Kevin

19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Erna; brothers, Robert and Gerald; sisters, Helen, Betty and Jeanette; stepchildren, Bob and John.

Richard’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Military honors will follow visiting hours at 1 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone, with the United States Army Upper Peninsula Funeral Honors Team presiding.
