Janet Ann (Pearson) Oseen

ESCANABA — Janet Ann (Pearson) Oseen, 86, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba. She was born on July 19, 1933, to John and Mary Pearson of Wells, Mich. She attended Wells grade school and graduated from Escanaba Area Public High School in 1951. Janet married Raymond Oseen on Jan, 15, 1953, in Eatontown, N.J. They were married 55 years before Ray’s passing in 2008.

Janet enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma. Janet was an avid reader, loved going to garage sales, and liked putting together jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed getting together with the ladies of the Red Hat Society. Janet was a member of St Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Escanaba. She owned and operated Second Time Around Resale Shop. Janet received the Bud Stegath award for volunteering in the Escanaba Eskymo football concession stand for many years.

Janet is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Dan) Young of Escanaba, and Barbara (Steve) DeRoeck of Green Bay Wis.; one son, Gregg Oseen; son-in-law, Joe Racicot of Escanaba; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marlene Bader of West Bend, Wis.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; daughter, Kristine (Racicot); and siblings, Helga, Leslie, June, Melba, Norma, Joyce, and Marilyn.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Janet will follow at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sue Ray officiating. A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the services in the Anderson Funeral Home reception room.

Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery on Friday. The Anderson Funeral Homes are assisting the Oseen family and online condolences can be sent at www.andersonfuneralhomes.net.
