Debbora Anne Lang

ST. JACQUES, Mich. — Debbora Anne Lang, 56, of St. Jacques, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at her home.

Debbie was born May 21, 1963, in Manistique, Mich., the daughter of Clifford and Diana (Gould) Cota Jr. Her family resided in Garden where she grew up. She was united in marriage to Andrew Lang on May 25, 1991. Debbie attended Bay de Noc Community College where she graduated from the ADN program as a registered nurse, even giving the commencement speech at her graduation. She then went on to work at many hospitals throughout the Upper Peninsula including OSF St. Francis Hospital. She also received her ACLS certification and worked as a travel nurse in emergency rooms throughout the U.S. In addition to her love of nursing, Debbie was also an avid reader and writer, writing stories and articles for The Daily Press over the years.

Debbie will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor as well as her strong devotion to her family. Her world revolved around her children and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

In addition to her loving husband, Andy, Debbie is survived by: mother, Diana Cota of Cooks, Mich.; son, Randall Lang of St. Jacques, Mich.; three daughters, Diana (Jeremy) VanCourt of Gladstone, Mich., Shalee Lang of Escanaba, Mich., and Kathleen (Lucas) Bradshaw of Gladstone, Mich.; two sisters, Threasa (Craig) Scott of Ontonagon, Mich., and Deanna Cota of Shelby Township, Mich.; six grandchildren, Caitlin VanCourt, Tacey Weber, Tian Weber, Christopher Weber, Alexander De Caire, and Delilah Bradshaw; also several nephews and niece.

In addition to her father, Clifford Cota Jr., Debbie is preceded in death by: mother-in-law, Nancy Long; cousin, John Pichette; and brother-in-law, Chris Lang.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. The Upper Peninsula Nurses Honor Guard will conclude visiting hours at 3 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Debbie will be laid to rest in the New Garden Cemetery in Garden, Mich. A luncheon will follow the burial in St. John’s Catholic Church Hall. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Lang family.
