Cindy S. (Kossow) Gawne

GLADSTONE — Cindy S. (Kossow) Gawne, 69, of Gladstone, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba. She was born on June 14, 1950, in St. Nicholas, Mich., the daughter of Edward “Buster” and Anna Mae (Brousseau) Kossow Sr. Cindy was raised in Perkins and graduated from high school. The former Cindy S. Kossow married Douglas Gawne and together shared many years of marriage. Cindy loved her animals dearly. At various times, she had horses, goats, dogs, and cats. She also loved her garden. She and Doug set up at the local farmer’s markets for several years. They also enjoyed taking their horses on trail rides and riding their four-wheelers. She was also well-known for her delicious homemade pizza. Cindy was very kind hearted and put others ahead of herself all of the time. She will be sadly missed by many.

Cindy S. Gawne is survived by her husband, Douglas Gawne of Gladstone; sisters, Lois (Buzz) Bussineau of Gladstone, Linda (Fred) Britton of Rock, Susan (Frank Malkowicz) Kossow of Rock, and Mary Ann (John) Foster of Perkins; brothers, Robert Kossow of Rock, and Tom Kossow of Rock; stepchildren, Kristi Haid of Paris, Ontario, Canada, Jim Gawne of Oxford, Mich., and Rebecca O’Boyle of Cape Coral, Fla.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her siblings, Edward Kossow Jr., Pete Kossow, Pat Kossow, Nancy (Fred) Herzog, Jack Kossow, Sally (Roger) Swanson and Beverly (Gary) Johnson.
