Joseph Cruz Limon

ESCANABA — Joseph Cruz Limon of Escanaba died unexpectedly on June 30, 2019 in Memphis, Tenn. He was 33 years old.

Joe was born in Saginaw, Mich. on Sept. 1, 1985 to Tammy (Syers) Limon and the late Robert Limon. The Limon family relocated to the Upper Peninsula when he was two.

Growing up as a “Yooper” Joe enjoyed sledding, swimming, and playing in the woods with his siblings and cousins. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. Although Joe appreciated the beauty of the U.P, he always loved to travel and enjoyed city life. He was a very smart man, especially with electronics, and loved video games, movies, and shows. He was also very passionate about music. Most days, Joe could be found working on vehicles and fixing things.

Joe had a big heart and will always be deeply missed by his family, most especially his mother with whom he shared a close bond.

Joe is survived by his mother Tammy of Escanaba; his siblings, Robert (Raquel) Limon Jr., Raymond Limon, Leana Rueda, Antonio (Janet Falco) Limon all of Saginaw; Adam (Alicia) Syers, Lucas (Scarlet Cayer) Limon, and Nancy Limon all of Escanaba; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by friends Julie, Toni, Angela and Brit.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father Robert Limon in 2017, whom Joe greatly missed.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at La Cantina in Escanaba on Joe’s birthday, Sept. 1, 2019. Services will begin at 3 p.m.
