Bonnie Lou Aderman

BARK RIVER — Bonnie Lou Aderman, 73, of Bark River, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 30, 2019, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Nov. 23, 1945, in Escanaba, the daughter of Oscar and Viola (Irving) West. Bonnie grew up in Escanaba and was a member of the Escanaba High School Graduating Class of 1964. Following graduation, she attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette to further her education. The former Bonnie Lou West married Gary Carlyle Aderman on Oct. 15, 1966, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Together, the couple shared nearly 53 years of marriage and raised two sons, Kevin and Scott in their hometown of Bark River. Bonnie took pride in being a homemaker, caring for her family. She found joy in the little things in life, especially gardening, working on crafts and crocheting, cooking delicious meals, and baking sweet treats. Bonnie was a kind soul and was a friend to many. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed.

Bonnie Lou Aderman is survived by her husband, Gary Aderman of Bark River; sons, Kevin (Erin) Aderman of Bark River, and Scott (Tami) Aderman of Gladstone; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter, Mercedes, T.J., Erin, Riley, Keara, and Janessa; one great-granddaughter, Natalie; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert West and Kenneth West.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2, at Salem Lutheran Church in Bark River. The Bark River American Legion Auxiliary service will be held at 2:45 p.m. Friday, during the visitation. Funeral services celebrating the life of Bonnie will follow at 4 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church with Rev. Hans Tolpingrud and Rev. Len Gilley officiating. A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the services in the church fellowship hall. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.
