Nancy Jean Dalgord

FAYETTE — Nancy Jean Dalgord, 82, of Fayette, passed away June 1, 2019, at UP Health Systems in Marquette.

The youngest daughter of William and Angeline (Rochefort) Robere, she was born on Nov. 26, 1936, in Manistique. She grew up in Fayette and attended school in Cooks. On Feb. 27, 1954, Nancy wed the love of her life, Harley Dalgord, in a ceremony at St. Peters Catholic Church in Fayette. They brought eight wonderful children into the world and proudly raised them in Fayette where she and Harley spent their life working their farm.

Nancy was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Garden. She enjoyed spending time outside hunting and gardening, taking what she grew and canning. She was a member of the U.P. Steam and Gas Engine Club, as well as the Red Hat Society. She found great pleasure in quilting, sewing, playing cards, putting puzzles together, reading, and watching her beloved Detroit Tigers play; she was a big fan! Above all, Nancy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn Mary (Bob) Lovrich of Wetmore, Mich., Harlan (Linda) Dalgord of Gladstone, Laurel (Gene) Olsen of Cooks, Dan (Jeani) Dalgord of Fayette, Bill (Lori) Dalgord of Garden, Evie (Carl) St. Ours of Isabella, and Rod Dalgord of Highland, Mich.; brothers, George (Elaine) Robere of Cooks, and Herman (Ellen) Robere of Fayette,; 12 grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, and special friend Gary Lang of Fayette.

Nancy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harley; beloved son, Rich Dalgord; and numerous siblings. Visitation to honor Nancy’s life will be held on Friday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Garden.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 p.m. at the church with Father John Essel officiating.

Burial will take place at Sac Bay Cemetery in Fayette at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 7.

Memorial donations may be directed to Garden Township Fire and Rescue.
